Pigmentation & Age Spot

Pigmentation is caused by excessive production of pigment that gives the skin it’s brown hue, melanin, the skin look uneven and sun damaged, giving it a dull and worn-out tone, which is visually ageing. It affects many people due to a range of reasons including hormones, sun exposure, damaged skin or hereditary reasons.

Age spots are small areas of discolouration (hyperpigmentation) that affect the face, hands and other areas frequently exposed to sun. They are most common in people over the age of 40, but they can occur earlier is some cases.
